Let's give a warm MCR-IV welcome to Mr. Dan Neil, our vocational agriculture teacher!
"I was born in Nebraska and moved to the Rothville, Mo. area at the age of 2. I went to school at Northwestern R-1 schools and graduated in 1975. I farmed with my dad throughout my high school years working with Angus Cattle and row crop farming. I attended Northeast Mo. State University (now Truman) and graduated with a B.S. degree in Animal Science in 1979. I married Brenda (Buckman) Neil on June 6, 1976 before my sophomore year of college. I returned to the farm not long after my college graduation and started my own herd. My wife taught at Bucklin and Marceline, retiring after 26 years. We raised three children during this time.
I decided to become a teacher not long after my father retired from farming. I spent three years working on my teaching certification while teaching at Bucklin for seven years in 9-12 science. I have also taught three years in Ag with FFA at Keytesville, three years in science at Newtown-Harris schools, three years at Northwestern schools in Mendon, and one semester at Salisbury in Ag after retirement. We spend as much time as possible with our family including our nine grandchildren."
