Our MCR-IV FFA Chapter was well represented tonight at the Area 3 Fall Public Speaking Contests. Students who compete are required to write a speech that is 6-8 minutes long and then recite it in front of a panel of judges.
Alexis & Karli have advanced and will be competing at the District Competition on Monday! Congratulations girls and good luck next week!

1st and 2nd grades came to the visit the Environmental science class today to learn about their turtle. They even got to see the 3D printed turtle that students made.
Students in Ag Structures wrapped up their concrete unit by making concrete pumpkins!
Update: The Imagination Library national website is experiencing technical difficulties this morning — so many Missouri families clearly want to register! Once The Dollywood Foundation resolves those issues or implements an alternative method to collect contact information from Missouri families, DESE will share information publicly (press release and social media) about today's launch of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Missouri. It is important to note that there is no deadline for parents to register online.
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s (DESE’s) Office of Childhood will launch Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library statewide in Missouri on November 8, 2023. Starting that day, parents of Missouri children birth to age five will be able to register their eligible children on the Imagination Library national website.

Please show your support for our MS and HS Science Students at the 2023 Macon County R-IV Science Fair! The Science Fair will be held in the Little Gym on December 12th (the same night as the Winter Concert) from 5pm until 30 minutes after the end of the Winter Concert.
Reminder: American Education Week is coming up! Please check out the dress-up days that are planned for the week of 11/14 - 11/17. Also, we hope you can join us for Grandparents Tea (for elementary students) on 11/16 from 2:00 - 3:15.
Please save the date for the 2023 MCR4 Winter Concert! The concert will be held on Tuesday, December 12th at 6pm in the Big Gym. This year's theme is "Holidays Around the World". All Elementary Classes, 5th Grade Band, Middle School Band, 8th Grade Choir, High School Class Piano and High School Band will all be performing. 5th grade was given the task of designing a material with the most bounce or stretch. They had some success and some failures. Then they were given a recipe to make some slime.
Reminder: BMC Booster Club meeting tonight at Bucklin @ 6:00 PM. The Bucklin/Macon County Booster club helps support many activities for our students and athletes. If you are interested in helping out, please attend the meeting.
